When May's late afternoon sun reached the magic angle, Bridal Veil Fall erupted in a spectacular rainbow display. For the next ten minutes, the rainbow gradually walked up to the top of the Bridal Veil before extinquishing,

Yosemite Fall reflected in the Merced River flood plain

California's winter rain storms have led to springtime flooding of the Merced River that runs through Yosemite Valley.

The flooded plain yields many opportunities for reflected peaks and waterfalls. The summertime like weather in the first week of May was a pleasant surprise.
